Soft Commodity and Perf present Lub, the debut album from Berlin-based Portuguese artist SOF, arriving this October. Its first single, Misanthrope, is out now: overdriven guitars, clipped drums, and shadowy synths conjure a sound-world perpetually on the brink of collapse. Lub is an ode to solitude and self-preservation through destruction. Rejecting socialized forms of musical structure and the prefabricated tropes they impose, SOF shapes a dissonant anarchitecture that, while indebted to metal and noise, forges a singular vocabulary of chaos, disorder, and rupture.
